What is Kotofit?

Kotofit is a multi-sport facility in downtown Jersey City. We offer indoor courts to play badminton, pickleball, and pingpong (Table Tennis). We have two locations -

Kotofit 3rd st. - Tue to Fri 7PM to 11:30 PM Badminton only

Kotofit Brunswick st. - Opening from 28th Oct., 7 days a week 7AM to 10PM, Badminton, Pickleball, and Pingpong (TT)

Tell me more about the new facility?

The new facility will be a self run & remotely monitored facility which means there won’t be any onsite staff managing the facility! Our 3rd party security company will be monitoring the facility 24X7.

The new facility opens on 28th Oct. The reservations will start from 7th Oct. Opening hours will be from 7AM to 10PM. You can join our Whatsapp group or follow us on Instagram (@kotofit) to learn more about it.

How can I book reservations?

Go to our reservation platform at the link below. Create a free account with us. Go to Book full court/ find a partner. Find a slot that works for you. You can reserve the entire court or sign up to find a partner and then just show up! You will need to create an account first, which is free.

Once you book a reservation/event, you will receive a pin code in your reservation email confirmation that will be used to enter into the lock at the facility to enter the facility

Can Kotofit help me find partners to play with?

Yes, our reservation platform allows to book reservation with players matching your proficiency level (eg: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced). Once you have created an account (or logged-in) on our reservation platform, navigate to Book Now -> Find a Partner. Select your preferred time slot and proficiency level; and click “Register for Event”. Yes, that’s it! It’s that simple.

How long can I stay at the facility?

You can access the court between 10 minutes before and 5 minutes after your reservation. Of course, you may change and take a reasonable time to get ready before you exit the facility.

Our security team will charge penalties to those who significantly overstay and ignore voice commands. Please feel free to checkout our Infractions policy here

Do I need to bring my own equipment?

At Kotofit 3rd Street - We provide Badminton racquet rental & shuttles for purchase. Please feel free to bring your own equipments!

At Kotofit Brunswick Street - We provide Badminton racquet, Pickleball paddle, Pingpong paddles and Pingpong ball for free! Shuttles and Pickleball balls are available for purchase at the facility

Can I bring friends?

Yes, we allow up to 6 people per court booking. Any additional people will be charged at $12 per hr.

Can I extend my time?

Yes, you can reserve additional time if slots are available.

At Kotofit Brunswick Street - If you stay at the court/table more than 5 mins past your reservation, the system will automatically charge you an additional 60 mins. In case the next slot is already booked by a different party, you will be subjected to more penalties. So please make sure you clear the court when your reservation is finished.

How do cancelations work?

We understand that plans change. We allow free cancellations with full refund up to 48 hours prior to scheduled reservation time. Cancellations made between 12 to 48 hours prior to scheduled reservation time will have a $5 penalty with rest of the amount refunded as credits to your account. Credits can be used for future reservations. Cancellations made within 12 hours of scheduled reservation time are not refundable

What is my skill level?

Below are some considerations to determine your skill level

  1. Beginner Amateur Badminton Player:

    • Skill Level: Beginners typically have limited experience and are still developing basic skills and techniques.

    • Footwork: They may struggle with proper footwork and positioning on the court.

    • Stroke Technique: Beginners often have inconsistent stroke techniques and may make frequent mistakes in terms of grip, swing, and timing.

    • Strategy: They may not have a deep understanding of game strategy and may rely on simple tactics.

    • Game Knowledge: Limited knowledge of the rules and scoring system.

    • Fitness: May have lower overall fitness levels and endurance.

    • Experience: Limited or no competitive experience in tournaments or leagues.

  2. Intermediate Amateur Badminton Player:

    • Skill Level: Intermediate players have improved their basic skills and are more consistent in their shots and techniques.

    • Footwork: They have better footwork and court positioning.

    • Stroke Technique: Intermediate players exhibit more refined stroke techniques and control over their shots.

    • Strategy: They understand game strategy, can anticipate opponents' moves, and use a variety of tactics.

    • Game Knowledge: Intermediate players have a good grasp of the rules and scoring system.

    • Fitness: They often have better overall fitness levels and endurance compared to beginners.

    • Experience: They may have participated in some local tournaments or leagues.

  3. Advanced Amateur Badminton Player:

    • Skill Level: Advanced players have highly developed skills and techniques.

    • Footwork: They excel in footwork and positioning, allowing them to cover the court effectively.

    • Stroke Technique: Advanced players have precise and powerful stroke techniques.

    • Strategy: They are strategic in their play, adapting to opponents and varying their tactics during a match.

    • Game Knowledge: Advanced players have a deep understanding of the game, including advanced rules and strategies.

    • Fitness: They maintain excellent overall fitness levels and endurance.

    • Experience: They have significant experience in competitive play, participating in regional or national tournaments and possibly achieving notable rankings.
